Meet Karen Gonzalez-Torres
Karen M. Gonzalez-Torres is an author, speaker, trauma-informed parent educator, and the founder of Nurturing Lives Trauma Informed Education, is a company dedicated to helping individuals, families, educators, and helping professionals build healthier relationships through compassion, connection, and healing-centered learning.
Since 2014, Karen has developed and facilitated parenting education programs, professional trainings, healing workshops, and creative learning experiences rooted in trauma-informed principles. As the creator of the Nurturing Lives Trauma Informed Education, she has authored a growing collection of books, journals, workbooks, and children's resources that educate, empower, and inspire healing across generations.
Drawing from both professional experience and her own journey of healing, Karen's work is grounded in the belief that lasting change begins with understanding ourselves. Through education, reflection, and creative expression, she equips parents, caregivers, educators, and organizations with practical tools to strengthen relationships, foster resilience, and create nurturing environments where children and families can thrive.

Founder of Helping Hands Resource Center
In 2013, I founded Helping Hands Resource Center (HHRC) with a vision to create a safe haven for individuals and families affected by domestic violence, abuse, and trauma.
As a survivor myself, I knew firsthand how difficult it was to find compassionate, trauma-informed support. That personal experience inspired me to build a space where survivors could access resources, feel heard, and begin their journey toward healing.
Since then, HHRC has grown into a trusted community resource—offering violence prevention programs, crisis support, advocacy, and education.
My own journey and professional background continue to shape the heart of our work, ensuring that every person who comes to HHRC is met with dignity, care, and understanding.
Through HHRC, I remain committed to creating safe, supportive spaces where survivors can reclaim their power and rebuild their lives with resilience and hope.
Community Liaison Bio: Michelle Solares
Michelle Solares, a dedicated Community Liaison at Nurturing Lives, brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep commitment to her role. Graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, Michelle's educational background perfectly aligns with her passion for addressing critical issues.
With a specialization in domestic violence education, Michelle conducts impactful workshops and delivers compelling public speaking engagements. Her comprehensive understanding of sociology is a vital asset to our organization, informing and enriching our approach to complex societal challenges.
As a Community Liaison, Michelle serves as a pivotal link between Nurturing Lives, faith-based settings, and the communities we support. Her role is instrumental in fostering connections, building bridges, and ensuring that our services reach those who need them most.
